Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has urged aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the north who are interested in the 2019 presidency to speak out.

The party has zoned its chairmanship slot to the South and the presidential ticket to the North.

However, Fayose declared interest in replacing President Buhari after announcing his intention in September 2019.

No aspirant from the northern region has publicly made his intentions known.

Two weeks ago, caretaker chairman Ahmed Makarfi, restated the commitment of the party to respect the various zoning arrangements.

“The Port Harcourt convention decisions remain valid and one of the decisions taken at that convention was zoning.

Fayose wrote on his Twitter page: ”As per issue of zoning in the PDP vis my declaration for President, those who want to be President in the North should be bold to come out.”
