Adeoye Oreyom, 41, a resident of 9, Dokun Street, Ewuga in Sagamu, reportedly beat up his son, chained his legs and hands for allegedly stealing the  said amount.

Oreyom was said to have stripped the teenager naked before putting him in chains.

Neighbours on hearing the cry of the boy informed the police.

The Divisional Police Officer, Shagamu Division, Aduroja Moses, reportedly led a team of policemen to the house. The teenager was found on the bare floor, naked, with his hands and legs bound. He also had blood stains on his body.

The boy was rescued and taken to the hospital, while his father was arrested.

Confirming the incident, spokesman for Ogun State Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said: “The Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered that the suspect be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.

“He warned that the Command will not tolerate any act of lawlessness from anybody no matter how highly placed the person is.”
