Back from their respective bases across the globe, a handful of Super Eagles players were in Lagos on Wednesday for an annual ritual; a charity match usually organized by former Nigeria international goalkeeper, Dosu Joseph.

The charity game usually pitches, players of Westerlo Academy owned by Dosu against Europe/Super Eagles All Stars.

At the end, it was Westerlo Academy that thrashed the Super Eagles All Stars side 5-1 in the 12th edition of the Charity game played at the football pitch of Lagos State Rehabilitation and Vocational Training Centre.

The Super Eagles All Stars paraded players like Ogenyi Onazi, Dele Alampasu, Nnamdi Oduamadi, Haruna Lukman, Raheem Lawal, Michael Babatunde and Kehinde Fatai.

Others who played for the Super Eagles All Stars were Victor Osimhen, Sodiq Popoola, Ramon Azeez and Stephen Makinwa.

After the ‘beating’ on the pitch, the Super Eagles players had a hectic time leaving the venue as area boys were at their best obtaining the Nigerian players.

The desperate boys were not deterred by the presence of the men of the Nigerian army, as the players made their way to the general exit, their cars were swamped by the 'agberos' who only give way once some cash is thrown out.

Though Wednesday’s act by the area boys was not completely alien, it must be said that they were more daring and refused to relent until some cash was given.
