Falana Faults Okorocha’s Amnesty To Wanted Cultists
You know Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State and his controversial tendencies of late.
Nigerians can almost predict what he will do next and he has sustained the momentum.
The latest feather to his cap is the amnesty he granted to members of a cult group that allegedly killed over 20 persons in Rivers State on New Year's Day.
Rivers State government is angry about the decision of Governor Okorocha to grant amnesty to criminals it declared wanted.
Days after the governor took this decision, condemnations are pouring in.
A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana, has condemned the decision of the governor to grant amnesty to persons that were on the wanted list in Rivers State.
Mr Falana said Governor Okorocha lacked the power to give amnesty to persons declared wanted outside his own state.

"You know Governor Okorocha? He questioned", apparently highlighting that the man had always done things that are controversial.
"He does not have the power to grant amnesty to persons declared wanted as criminals outside his state.
"That is not possible and the police should arrest and prosecute them," he emphasised.
It seems the Governor has usurped the power of the President to grant amnesty to anyone in Nigeria.
