Kelechi Iheancho was brought in as a late replacement for Raheem Sterling but he could not save the day as Manchester City were beaten 2-1 by Arsenal in Sunday’s FA Cup semifinal clash at the Wembley stadium.

Both Arsenal and City knew that the FA Cup was their last chance for silverware and expectedly Arsene Wenger and Pep Guardiola threw their best legs forward.

City suffered an early set back with Silva picking up an early knock that forced him out of the game. He was replaced by Sterling a few minutes into the game.

After a barren first half, at the end it was City that had the honour of getting the opening goal and it came from Sergio Aguero who scored in the 62nd minute.

Arsenal got the much-needed equalizer ten minutes later and it came from an unlikely source, Nacho Monreal.

After 90 minutes of action the game stretched into extra time and it was then that Alexis Sanchez proved he will be sorely missed if he leaves at the Emirates at the end of the season.

He struck in the 101st minute to give Wenger’s team the winning goal.

Arsenal, have won the FA Cup 12 times and will be hoping to add another when they face Chelsea in next month’s final at Wembley.

Nigerian striker Alex Iwobi, who was listed for Sunday’s game by Arsenal, was left rooted on the bench for the entire duration of the game.
