The former Speaker of House of Representative, Dimeji Bankole, has joined the newly registered Action Democratic Party (ADP).

Until his move to ADP, Bankole was a staunch member of the PDP.

The former Speaker was listed as member of the newly inaugurated contact and mobilisation committee ahead of the party for the 2019 general election.

Dimeji’s father, who is also the chairman Board of Trustees (BoT) of the party, Alani Bankole, also confirmed in an interview with journalists on Thursday that his son is now a chieftain of the opposition ADP.

He, however, refrained from commenting on Bankole's next political ambition.

"My son is nearly 50 years old. Where l come from, l don’t talk on behalf of such elderly person. He will tell you if you ask him,” he told newsmen.

Bankole is rumoured to be nursing the ambition of contesting the 2019 governorship election in Ogun State.
