Three ex-inmate convicts of the Ilesa Prisons in Osun State have been arrested.

They were arrested on Wednesday while attempting to throw substance suspected to be Indian hemp, alcoholic drinks, mobile phones and other dangerous weapons into the yard.

The ex-inmates are: Kola Ademurele, Chukwudi Ogba and Dauda Kareem.

These suspects were said to have rented a storey building apartment many streets away from the prison, which they used as their operational base.

They were said to be supplying inmates of the prison with the substances

The three suspects have been handed over to National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and Department of State Services (DSS), for further investigation and prosecution.

The Controller of Prisons, Osun State Command, Segun Oluwasemire, commended the efforts and commitment of the officers.

He, however, enjoined members of the public to assist NPS in the discharge of its duties by resisting such an act.
