Every community in Lagos has its challenges which the police will not relent in solving.

This was the promise made by the Lagos Commissioner of Police, CP Edgal Imohimi on Wednesday during a town hall meeting hosted by the Area J Police Command.

“During the various town hall meetings that I have held, I discovered that different communities have their various problems.

“In Isolo, the Oba told me that their major problem is drug abuse and cultism following which we immediately went into partnership with the people.

“Within the shortest period, we made series of arrest, recovered and destroyed over N200m worth of drugs at Akala.” he said.

Imohimi added that some communities have the peculiar challenge of neighborhood crimes which the command strategically tackled with community policing and technology.

“These strategy entails community policing and partnership which gave the command the success recorded in Ikorodu.

“If this synergy can be reciprocated here then issues of neighborhood crimes will soon be a thing of the past.” Imohimi said.

The CP also encouraged members of the public to speak out against drug abuse and cultism as policemen can be transferred but the community members will remain.
