Event Planner In Court Over Alleged N1.3m Fraud
An event planner, Adeleke Adedokun, on Tuesday, appeared in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, charged with N1.3 million fraud.
Adedokun 32, is facing a two-count charge of obtaining by false pretences and stealing.
The complainant, Folashade Dixon was planning her sister’s wedding in September and contracted Adedokun to supply a variety of drinks at the wedding ceremony.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Femi Omilana said, “Adedokun failed to supply the drinks and converted the money to his own use.”
The prosecutor said that the accused thereby stole the amount.
Omilana said the offence contravened Sections 390 (9) and 419 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 38, Vol.11, Law of Oyo State of Nigeria, 2000.
The defendant however pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him.
The Magistrate, Mrs A.O Akande, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case until November 28, for hearing.
