"The Nigeria Police does not know what it is doing, the legal section should be overhauled."

Olukoya Ogungbeje, lawyer to kidnap kingpin, Evans, said this at the Lagos Federal High Court after the hearing of the N300m suit filed by him on behalf of Evans.

Ogungbeje claimed that the legal department of the Nigeria Police Force is deliberately frustrating the suit.

"Who is fooling who? - they came and denied the lawyer that stood for them.

"The media should have seen the handwriting on the wall that police do not know what they are doing. Their legal section should be overhauled.

"Once a court has adjourned for judgement, any other application you bring afterwards is an attempt to arrest judgement", he said.

Evans, through his lawyer had filed a N300m lawsuit against the police, challenging his continued detention since June 10 without arraignment.

He was however absent in court and no reason was given by the police.
