There is a glimmer of hope as far as getting a silverware is concerned for Alex Iwobi and his Arsenal teammates this season.

The renewed optimism is coming on the heels of the Gunners' progress to the next stage of the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night.

Arsenal overturned a first leg deficit to progress into the last 16 of the Europa League with a 3-0 win over BATE Borisov on Thursday night.

An early own goal from Zakhar Volkov set the Gunners on their way, and headers from Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis Papastathopoulos sealed the club's progress through to the next round by a 3-1 aggregate scoreline.

Unai Eemery's men wasted no time in going in search of the goal that they required to level the tie and shortly after Iwobi had sent a shot straight at Denis Scherbitski, the Gunners went in front.

A cross from the right from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang did not come close to finding a teammate, but Volkov was only able to divert the ball into his own net from eight yards out.

From then, the Gunners never looked back, even though they had myriad of chances afterwards, they were only able to add just two more goals and that was more than enough.
