Antoine Griezmann has been threatened that a move away from the club this summer may be regretted.

Griezmann was the hero on Wednesday night after scoring two goals to help Atletico beat Marseille 3-0 and win the Europa League trophy.

The 27-year old’s performance has sparked transfer speculation, with Manchester United and Barcelona in the fore-front.

But Atletico CEO, Miguel Angel Gil Marin, has warned that the player will never enter history in another club if he moves this summer.

“It will depend on his feelings more than anything else,’ he said after the game.

“If he wants to make history at Atletico Madrid where everything revolves around him, or go to a club where he will never enter history. If he decides that he does not want to continue with us, we have to respect his decision.

“I am not optimistic or pessimistic. I do not know what will happen, it is not a decision for him to say after the final.”

Griezmann enjoyed another excellent season for Atletico with 29 goals and 15 assists in 48 appearances.

He will demand a hefty transfer fee with Atletico set to collect upwards of £100million.
