Etebo Gets New Coach At Stoke City
Super Eagles midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo has a new manager at this Championship side, Stoke City.
The new man at the helm of affairs is Nathan Jones and he officially resumed work on Thursday after he was unveiled barely 24 hours ago.
The 45-year-old Welshman takes up the reins at the bet365 Stadium after the Potters agreed a compensation package with his former club Luton Town.
John Coates and Peter Coates said: “Nathan is an incredibly driven and passionate individual and we are delighted to have secured his services for Stoke City.
“We have been following Nathan’s career for some time and when we met him were hugely impressed with his clear vision as to how he will achieve success at Stoke.”
Jones has some level of pedigree as his former club Luton were in the lower reaches of the League Two table when he took over in January 2016 but won 11 of his first 21 games in charge to finish 11th.
In his first full season as manager he steered the Hatters into the play-offs and last season they went one better as they secured automatic promotion.
Before taking over at Luton, he worked in the Championship with Brighton, operating as assistant head coach under Oscar Garcia and first-team coach under both Sami Hyypia and Chris Hughton.
It is now expected that he can help Stoke in their bid to return to the Premier League having been relegated last season.
