The Nigerian Police claims its leadership is having sleepless nights over the sharp rise in cases of Kidnapping For Ransoms.

Reports suggest a master plan is in the oven to end this trend.

This is because the police have equipped themselves with sophisticated intelligent unit outfits to track down criminals.

The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris gave this assurance on Friday while inaugurating the Imo Police Intelligent Unit.

Idris said tracking down of the Imo born notorious kidnapper Mr. Henry Chibueze is example of how police will flush out all criminals in the system.

He however warned his officers against human rights abuses.

“Police cannot make any head way without the people. You must always respect human rights and dignity to restore confidence that police is the people’s friend,” the IG said.

Idris who was also on a farmiliarisation tour in Imo State Police command, commended Gov. Rochas Okorocha, who donated an ultra-modern hospital located at Ideato South Local Government to the police, and urged the officers to maintain the facility.
