It was a bad day for under-fire Jose Mourinho as his Manchester United side suffered a 3-1 defeat to West Ham United.

Coming from a loss to lower division club Derby County in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday and last week’s EPL draw with Wolves, Mourinho led his side into Saturday’s early English Premier League kickoff with the hope of returning to winning ways.

But their hope was dashed so quickly when Felipe Anderson put West Ham ahead after just five minutes of kickoff.

Things started getting worse for the visitors when Victor Lindelof was forced to score his own post few minutes to half time, causing Manchester United to be two goals down at the break.

Marcus Rashford reduced the deficit with barely 20 minutes left on the clock, with fans now hoping for a comeback, but their expectations did not last more than three minutes as Marko Arnautovic extended West Ham’s lead in the 74th minute.

Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial both came off minutes before Rashford's goal for Fred and Mata respectively, but Manchester United had to sink deep down on the EPL table.
