EPL Top Four: Arsenal Fights On Against All Odds
Olivier Giroud (42), Mesut Ozil (55), Alexis Sanchez (76) then Giroud (80) again! The usual scorers are AWAKE.
It seems Arsenal saved its best performances this season for last. But it seems a little too late for comfort.
With just two games left, three straight wins appears to be a decent response to the defeat suffered during the North London derby against Tottenham.
Arsenal's reinvigorated side has moved within a point of Liverpool. Although they are knocking on the doors of the top four teams, Arsenal will still not reach the top four if Liverpool and Manchester City win all their matches.
Arsene Wenger can only see positives and he wants the fans to remain loyal.
“We have 69 points now, let’s hope we can make it 72 on Tuesday night then we will see.
“We have shown we can stick together and keep going, if the other teams are better they are better.” Wenger said.
It also seems Wenger's version of the back 3 may be holding up and the players adapting to the new style of play.
Olivier Giroud scored the first and last goals, Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez combined impressively for the second.
Arsenal looked fantastic all through the second half with Alexis Sanchez being the best player on the pitch.
However, the Gunners will have to up their performance in the remaining games against Sunderland and Everton if their dreams of playing in the UEFA champions league are to be kept alive.
