Arsenal's chances of retaining their 20-year-old spot in the UEFA Champions League is out of their hands.

After featuring close to over a month for Arsenal, Nigeria international, Alex Iwobi was Tuesday night back in the mix for the Gunners who beat Sunderland 2-0.

Though Iwobi did not score nor provided an assist, his entrance brought some good luck for the Gunners as Chilean Alexis Sanchez hit two goals that helped preserve Arsenal’s slim hopes for a top-four finish.

The Sunderland goalkeeper was unable to prevent Sanchez from delivering Arsenal the win, though, as the Chilean was left with an easy finish by Mesut Ozil with 18 minutes left on the clock, before adding a second in the 81st minute.

Arsenal find themselves trailing fourth-placed Liverpool by one point heading into their final game of the league season following Tuesday's win.

A win over Everton will be enough to secure Champions League football for Arsenal if Liverpool fail to beat Middlesbrough on Sunday.
