Wayne Rooney has ended his association with the Premier League to join Major League Soccer (MLS) side DC United.

According to Sky Sports News, the Everton attacker has arrived in Washington to complete formalities.

The 32-year-old has signed a three and half year contract where he hopes to end his career.

The former England star spent most of his career with Manchester United winning the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup titles.

He returned to his boyhood club, Everton, last season.

Rooney already has a visa and work permit and could begin training with his new teammates later this week.

DC United are expected to hold a press conference next Monday to unveil the former captain of England's Three Lions.
