Midfielder Wilfred Ndidi did not play in Wednesday’s English Premier League tie against Arsenal, but his Leicester City club did well to beat the Gunners 3-1 at the King Power Stadium.

Ndidi’s Nigerian compatriot Kelechi Iheanacho opened scoring in the 14th minute, but Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang drew level in the 53rd minute after Konstantinos Mavropanos had been sent off just after 15 minutes.

Jamie Vardy converted a 76th minute penalty before Riyad Mahrez sealed victory in the 90th minute to ensure a celebration at the King Power Stadium.

Ndidi said he was in the stands during the game, and the atmosphere was amazing.

“Great performance today, and so happy we got 3points in the bag. Atmosphere was amazing from my view in the stands one more to go!!”

The 21-year-old has missed Leicester City’s last two games due to a harmstring injury which he is already recuperating from.

He has featured in 33 league games for Leicester City and has recorded four assists.
