Winger Victor Moses was again absent in Chelsea squad as they grinded a 2-0 victory over Bournemouth.

The Nigerian was left out of Chelsea’s side that defeated Newcastle United 2-1 in a Premier League match at St James’ Park on August 26.

The game against Bournemouth will be Moses’ second consecutive tie he will be overlooked by new manager Maurizio Sarri.

In Saturday’s encounter, both sides had played a goalless draw in the first half before Pedro broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute, despite the stubborn defensive display by Bournemouth to frustrate the hosts inside the Stamford Bridge stadium.

With five minutes left on the clock, Eden Hazard sealed victory for Chelsea with a quality finish to make it four wins from four Premier League games under Sarri.
