Liverpool beat Crystal Palace in a 7-goal thriller to go seven points clear at the top of the English Premier League, with second-place Manchester City having a game less.

A brace by Mohamed Salah earned the league leaders a 4-3 victory over their determined opponent on Saturday.

It was Crystal Palace who scored first when Andros Townsend broke the deadlock in the 34th minute to take a 1-0 lead into half time.

Salah equalized one minute after the restart before Roberto Firmino put Liverpool ahead seven minutes later.

In less than 10 minutes, James Tomkins put Palace back in contention but Salah completed his brace to put Liverpool back in front.

One minute from time, James Milner was sent off for a second yellow card as the final drama unfolded.

Sadio Mane had extended Liverpool’s lead, but Max Meyer reduced the deficit to see the game end 4-3.
