Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun failed to make his English Premier League debut for new club Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.

Brighton suffered a 2-0 defeat to Isaac Success’ Watford at the Vicarage Road Stadium with the Nigerian coming in for Andre Gray in the 74th minute.

Two goals from Roberto Pereyra in both halves was all Watford needed to secure all three points in their first EPL 2018/19 season game.

Balogun was listed but left on the bench for all 90 minutes as his side labored hard with no result to show.

Balogun joined the Falmer Stadium outfit on a two-year deal after departing Mainz 05 at the end of the season.
