Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi was not featured in Leicester City’s 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle.

Ndidi was sent off on March 31 as the Foxes devoured Brighton 2-0 at the American Express Community Stadium after receiving a second yellow card.

In the English Premier League clash on Saturday, Newcastle took the lead as early as the 18th minute through Jonjo Shelvey.

Newcastle ensured they stay on the lead into half time with home fans at the King Power Stadium expecting the table to turn.

After the restart, Leicester made some attempts at goal, but it was their visitors who extended the lead through Ayoze Perez in the 75th minute.

But Leicester did well to reduce the deficit with six minutes from time, thanks to a Jamie Vardy effort, to end the tie 2-1 in favour of Newcaslte United.
