EPL: Iwobi Unhappy Over Last Game For 2017
Super Eagles star, Alex Iwobi, is far from being satisfied with the way his club, Arsenal, ended the 2017 calendar year.
Iwobi expressed his disappointment with Arsenal’s 1-1 Premier League draw against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns on Sunday.
A late and controversial penalty in the 89th minute from Jay Rodriguez denied Arsenal the victory they craved for after Alexis Sanchez’s free-kick had given the Gunners the lead.
The result meant Arsenal are yet to win back-to-back games away from home this season while West Brom are without a win in 19 matches.
Iwobi who returned to the Gunners’ starting line-up in the absence of Mesut Ozil featured for 74 minutes before being taken off for Danny Welbeck.
He, however, thanked Arsenal fans for their support and wished them a splendid New Year.
“Disappointing To Only Get A Point Out Of Today. Thank You For Your Support This Year. Enjoy Your New Year Celebrations! ??? #AFC #17,” Iwobi tweeted after the game.
Arsenal are fifth in the English Premier League table, with 38 points from 21 games.
They will be starting 2018 on a tough note, as they will host Chelsea in their next game at the Emirates on Wednesday.
