Chelsea manager Antonio Conte may be on his way out of Stamford Bridge sooner than expected.

A slip at Vicarage Road on Monday may be the last straw that will break the camel’s back.

Chelsea need to beat Watford on Monday to brighten their chance of making the Champions League next season as they are contesting with Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham for top four, with runaway leaders Manchester City almost certain to win the league.

A combination of poor results and a rift with owner Roman Abramovich over who makes signings has left Conte on the brink.

If Chelsea beat Watford, Conte is set to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season despite only winning the Premier League title last year.

Report in London has it that Abramovich has proven that he isn’t scared to wield the axe and Conte is close to becoming the next name on what has become, down the years, a long list.

Conte is almost guaranteed a job as Italy manager when he leaves Chelsea.

The Blues look set to turn to former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique to take over from Conte and he is free to move to London immediately if required.
