EPL: Chelsea Suffer Burnley Loss Without Victor Moses
Victor Moses watched from the bench as his Chelsea side fell to a 3-2 loss to Burnley at Stamford Bridge in their first game of the 2017/2018 English Premier League.
Moses was ruled out of the match with a suspension because of the red card he picked up against Arsenal in the FA Cup final at the end of last season.
It was a horrible day for Chelsea with two of its players - Gary Cahill who got a straight red in the with just 14 minutes into the game and Cesc Fabregas who was shown a second yellow in the 81st minute.
Eight minutes after Cahil’s red card, Sam Vokes put Burnley ahead before Stephen Ward doubled their lead.
Vokes completed his brace two minutes before half time to take a 3-0 lead into the break.
But the second half was to be more dramatic as the defending champions canceled two goals.
Substitute Alvaro Morata scored and gave an assist on his debut for the London club.
