Arsenal returned from the international break to beat Tottenham 2-0 in an English Premier League game on Saturday.

First half goals from Shkodran Mustafi and Alexis Sanchez sealed victory for the Gunners.

Super Eagles striker Alex Iwobi was benched by Arsene Wenger but came on in the 84th minute for Mesut Ozil.

For the first goal scored in the 36th minute, Mesut Ozil lofted the ball in with a lazy swing of his left and his German teammate Shkodran Mustafi climbed well before sending a really superb header back across goal, beating Hugo Lloris.

Five minutes later, Alexandre Lacazette fired a cross in at Sanchez, who had space in the middle and launched a shot into the roof of the net from just a few yards out.

Arsenal, on 22 points, is now one point adrift of Tottenham.

Tottenham have won only two of their last 32 away league visits to face Arsenal (W2 D13 L17), winning 3-1 at Highbury in May 1993 and 3-2 at the Emirates in November 2010.
