Manchester United have momentarily narrowed the lead between them and table toppers, City to nine points following their lone goal away win against Burnley on Saturday.

It was indeed a hard-earned win as Anthony Martial converted from one of just two shots on target from Manchester United as his side claimed a slender 1-0 win away at Burnley.

The Red Devils were far from their best at Turf Moor, failing to create much besides their 54th-minute winner through a well-taken Martial finish.

United held on to their lead for the remainder to reduce the gap on leaders Manchester City, which now stands at nine points ahead of the Citizens' home match against Newcastle United this evening.

With the gritty performance on Saturday, Manchester United have now extended their new unbeaten run to eight games.
