For the umpteenth time, fans of Former African champions, Enyimba Football club of Aba would endure another round of continental games outside their home ground.

This comes after consistent assurances by state authorities that the stadium would be ready for their Wednesday's clash.

The fans are ruing yet another failure by the Abia State Government to make good its promise of getting the playing turf of the stadium ready before the July 18 crucial CAF Confederation Cup match against Williamsville of Cote d' Ivoire.

A supporter of Enyimba FC, Chima Amadi says he is disappointed at the failed promises made.

“Until the Port Harcourt venue was announced by CAF, we were constantly hopeful and planning to welcome our boys back to Aba. The Governor should have just not said anything until they are ready. We appreciate the good work they are doing but we need Enyimba back home as soon as possible. We are disappointed that we have to travel to Aba.”

Another female fan of Enyimba, Maureen Chiamaka lamented that Enyimba needs full support of their fan base to reclaim top spot on the continent.

“The government went to the press to announce that they have fully committed the contractor. The contractor as well confirmed that the stadium will be ready. So who are they deceiving, they know how much we miss our team and that is why they are playing on our emotions. Enyimba is at crucial stage of the tournament and they need us now than ever,” she lamented.
