Super Eagles midfielder, Hope Akpan formerly playing in the Premier League will have to make the decision if he is ready to go further down to play in the third-tier of English football as his relegated club, Burton Albion has offered him a new contract.

The Brewers, via a statement on their official website, confirmed that the central midfielder and five others have been offered new deals ahead of the start of pre-season preparations.

This is the second consecutive season Akpan has suffered relegation with a Championship club, as his past club Blackburn Rovers were demoted at the end of the 2016-2017 campaign.

It is safe to say that the dwindling fortunes of Akpan in club football is affecting his chances with the national teams as he can only boast of two caps for the Super Eagles since 2015.
