Elrufai To Pay N40 million For Unlawful Arrest Of Audu Maikori
The Governor of Kaduna State has been given ‘Gbese’ by a court in Abuja.
Malam Nasir Elrufai has been ordered by a Federal High Court to pay a sum of N40 million Naira to Chocolate City boss Audu Maikori for his unlawful arrest and detention in February of this year.
Maikori was arrested on charges of incitement.
The lawyer and record label executive had announced on social media the killing of some students in the Southern part of Kaduna State by Fulani herdsmen.
He, however, retracted the statement when according to him, he found out he was misinformed by his former driver.
He was arrested and charged to court by the Kaduna State government.
In May, Audu Maikori took Elrufai to court asking for a compensation of 10 billion Naira for gross violation of his rights.
