The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other political parties have been given the green light to resume campaign.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) chairman Prof Mahmood Yakubu had insisted that campaigns will not resume despite the postponement of the elections by one week.

Political parties led by the PDP and APC pile pressure on INEC to resume campaign and their request has now been granted.

“After consultations with political parties, the Commission has approved that campaigns by parties and candidates can resume forthwith to end at midnight on Thursday 21st February.” INEC said in a tweet on Monday.

INEC reschedule the Presidential and National Assembly Elections from February 16 to Saturday, 23rd February 2019. And the Governorship, State House of Assembly and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council Elections was rescheduled from March 2 to Saturday 9th March 2019.
