In an early morning broadcast on election day, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, did the unthinkable.

He said the Presidential and National Assembly elections earlier scheduled to hold February 16 would now hold next February 23 while that of the governorship, state houses of Assembly and Abuja area councils had been shifted to March 9.

Popular Nigerian Musician, Davido has reacted to the postponement.

The DMW boss who has pitched his tent with the People Democratic Party candidate, Atiku Abubakar urged Nigerians not to be worried about the postponement of the election.

“The last President did the same no cause for alarm. To God be the glory …Delay is not denial,”  he tweeted.

“There’s nothing wrong in wanting to be President for one more week … the seat sweet  #DefendYourVote,” he added.
