Former president Olusegun Obasanjo has cast his vote in the governorship and state house of assembly election on Saturday.

The 82-year-old cast his vote in Owu, Abeokuta, Ogun state around 10am local time.

Obasanjo, who has become more famous for his controversial speeches, refused to make a comment after casting his ballot on Saturday.

When approached by journalists at the polling unit, the former president said “no comment” as he walked straight inside his waiting car guarded by security men.

42 candidates are contesting for the governorship seat in Ogun state as incumbent governor Ibikunle Amosun is heading for the senate after completing two terms of eight years.
