#EkitiDecides: PDP Serves Petition Papers On APC, Fayemi By Pasting On Court Walls
As directed by the Ekiti State Election Tribunal,, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has pasted copies of its petition against the declaration of Kayode Fayemi as winner of the July 14 governorship election at the premises of the state High Court.
The order was granted on Wednesday after the PDP and its candidate Professor Kolapo Olusola told the tribunal that they could not effect personal service of the petition to the 2nd and 3rd respondents which are: the All Progressives Congress (APC and Fayemi respectively .
The APC’s secretariat in Ajilosun area of Ado Ekiti, the state capital, is said to be under lock while Fayemi is currently out of the country.
The petitioners had asked the court for an order to enable them to serve the APC and Fayemi the petition by substituted means.
They argued that the grounds for their application were that the bailiff of the tribunal had made several attempts to personally serve the APC and Fayemi but all to no avail, hence the prayers for a substituted service.
After listening to the arguments of the legal team of PDP and Olusola, headed by Yusuf Ali , the tribunal granted their prayers that the APC and Fayemi be served the petition by substituted means.
Following the order, agents of the PDP on Thursday stormed the premises of the court, where the Tribunal also sits and pasted copies of the 700- page petition on walls and boards.
The agent came with buckets of starch and brushes, which they used in pasting the papers on the wall.
Judiciary workers and visitors to the complex watched with amusement has the papers were pasted.
The APC has not commented on the development and calls to the Chairman of the APC in the state, Jide Awe, were neither answered nor returned.
