Ekiti State Takes Over Moji Olaiya’s Burial
Moji Olaiya's body will not be buried in Canada according to Islamic rites, but will be flown back to her country home.
The late Nollywood actress family wanted her buried in line with Muslim rites, but her daughter, Adun and the Ekiti State government want her body returned to Nigeria.
The 42-year-old actress had died at a medical facility in Canada, with the burial scheduled to hold on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in Canada, but everything changed when the government of Ekiti State stepped into the matter.
Reports say the state government in a last minute intervention demanded that the body of the actress should be returned to Nigeria.
The State government is ready to bankroll her return trip.
