It's obviously a popularity contest between two men, although, they have the backing of Nigeria's top two political gladiators behind them.

The former Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Kayode Fayemi will face off against incumbent governor, Ayodele Fayose.

Their rivalry at the moment has made the other primary contestant and flag bearer of the People's Democratic Party, Olusola Eleka seem less important with some pundits saying Fayose is running for a third term.

In the meantime, the Independent National Electoral Commission in Ekiti state says voting materials for Saturday's governorship election have arrived in all 16 local council areas.

Earlier on, the commission said it electronically monitored the delivery process and hopes it will also monitor how the materials are deployed to polling units on Saturday.

Accreditation and voting are expected to occur simultaneously with the PVCs being your gate pass to participate in the electoral process.
