The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) may have announced the winner of Saturday’s governorship election in Ekiti, but the state house of assembly is not having any of that.

Assembly members appear not to feel safe anymore and have also adjourned sitting for almost three months, to resume on October 8, 2018

Speaking at the House plenary in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday, Leader of Business, Akinyele Olatunji said the process leading to the election and final results were unfortunate.

The Chairman, House Committee on Information, Samuel Omotoso, also said the election did not meet all democratic credentials.

The Speaker of the Assembly, Kola Oluwawole said the election was a show of shame, adding that thugs and security men were used to harass voters.
