The president has reconciled the aspirants that participated in last Saturday’s governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State.

President Buhari met party leaders from the South-West zone on Wednesday night during a dinner at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

During the dinner, Buhari told the aspirants and leaders of the party in the state to bury their hatchets and do everything possible to win Ekiti state come July 14.

He told them to see the governorship election as a pointer to the 2019 elections.

Leaders of the party that attended the dinner include: Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, National Chairman of the party, John Oyegun, former governor of Lagos State and national leader of the party, Bola Tinubu, Bisi Akande, governorship flagbearer of the APC in Ekiti, Kayode Fayemi among others.

The President said the party must work together to ensure that the will of the people is not subverted.

He told the group that as he promised before, he will not interfere in the internal affairs of the party at any level.

The President commended Fayemi for already reaching out to his co-contestants who lost out during Saturday's primaries.
