The EFCC has invited former Director General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ayodele Oke for questions over the $43.45 million discovered at Osborne Towers in Ikoyi Lagos.

Oke and his wife, Folashade, were both given fresh invitations for questioning.

Folashade had refused to honour previous invitations by the EFCC which resumed investigation into the matter, following the Federal Government’s decision to relieve Oke of his position as DG.

The other suspects are being invited to determine their culpability or otherwise in the case.

Oke was sacked by President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, October 30, 2017.

In April 2017, he was suspended by Buhari after EFCC officials raided an apartment at Osborne Towers in Ikoyi, Lagos (which he later described as a ‘safe house’) and found US$43.4 million.

In addition, about £27,800 and N23 million were also discovered in the empty flat.

A judge of the Federal High Court in Lagos, Justice Muslim Hassan, had on June 6, 2017 granted a final forfeiture order of the funds since no one appeared to lay claim.
