The APC has debunked reports that the party secretariat in Abuja was raided by anti-graft operatives.

There were reports in the media on Thursday that operatives of the EFCC stormed the secretariat of the party as part of it's investigations into the alleged misappropriation of fund by the John Oyegun led National Working Committee.

But the party in a statement on Friday by its spokesperson, Bolaji Abdullahi said noting of such happened.

It reads: “Our attention has been drawn to syndicated fake news published in some sections of the media that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) ‘raided’ the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday, February 22, 2018.

“The report is completely false as nothing of such happened as reported.

“We once again appeal to media houses to fact check and verify information ascribed or relating to our Party from the official APC media channels.”

Recall that a group known as Buhari/APC Anti-Corruption Support Group, had sent a petition to the anti corruption agency last week accusing Oyegun of financial sleaze.

The Leader of the group, Ishola Adeshina alleged that the former Edo State governor has been running the accounts of the party without recourse to the majority of national officers of the party.
