EFCC Begins Probe Of Former SGF Babachir Lawal
Babachir Lawal has no immunity and EFCC has come calling.
He will answer questions about his role in recent fraud allegations against him. A crack team has been set up as part of the investigation process.
The team, made up of special investigators from the EFCC, will examine all the details relating to the 200 million Naira contract for the cutting of grass in the North East which is linked to the former SGF.
After Lawal was sacked, the Presidency said it would not shield the former SGF from investigation.
With the sacking of Lawal, the anti-corruption fight has reached the presidency, but his investigation is coming 6 months after he was suspended by the president.
His suspension was to enable a committee headed by the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, to investigate corruption allegations.
