Ebonyi Women Protest Herdsmen Invasion, Social Vices
The prayer protest march was against herdsmen invasion and social vices in the area.
The women under the aegis of Iziah Women Prayer Group took their protest to the four communities that make up Iziah clan.
Tagged ‘Liberating Iziah People from Deadly Act’, the women chanted sorrowful songs with their bibles raised high to the heavens.
Leader of the Group, Hon. Patricia Edeh, called on Ebonyi government to prevail on the situation of insecurity in the area, and make perpetrators face the law.
“We are praying to God to show us practical steps on how to control the controversial migration of herdsmen into Iziah communities.
“The herdsmen are causing great havoc in our communities. They maim human beings, destroy both economic crops and animal.
“The herdsmen are behaving as if they are the original owners of our land. Since our rural farmers could not fight for their rights or voice out, when decided to do that.
"As we are marching, some other women ran out from their homes to join us. They saw us crying out to the Lord in Heaven to divinely arrest those evil plotters that have been killing our children”, she told Bounce News.
