Ogwa Ode Joseph and his wife Angelina were among others who lost their lives in the bloody boundary dispute between Benue and Ebonyi States.

The couple were last Friday ruthlessly murdered and their bodies mutilated.

The couple died leaving behind six children, including a one-year-old baby.

The age long boundary dispute between the people of Ekwashi Community in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and the neighboring people of Agila in Ado Local Government Area of Benue State has resurfaced.

It recently claimed the lives of a couple from Ekwashi-Ngbo, murdered in cold blood by a neighboring Agila people in Ado Local government area.

The Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State, Kelechi Igwe has visited the bereaved family to sympathize with them.

Igwe appealed to the people of Ekwashi not to engage in reprisal attacks.

The Deputy Governor described the action as primitive and unfortunate, especially coming at a time the state government has made concerted effort to ensure the return of lasting peace.

He gave some assurance to the people that the Umahi-led administration would leave no stone upturned to ensure that they are protected from further attacks.

Also speaking, President of Ngbo Leaders Council, Professor Sunday Elom, said their Benue neighbours were in the attitude of attacking Ekwashi Community.

Meanwhile, the Ebonyi State Police Spokesperson, Loveth Odah, who confirmed the incident, said they were killed on their farmland.
