DSS Withdraws Officers Attached To Saraki, Dogara, Ekweremadu
Facts emerged on Sunday that the security operatives from the Department of State Security (DSS) attached to the four principal officers of both chambers of the National Assembly have been reduced.
No reason was adduced for the recall of some of the operatives.
There are, however, speculations that the directive might have been at the instance of the President.
It was gathered that DSS operatives attached to Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara, Speaker House of Representatives, were reduced by half.
11 of the DSS operatives attached to Saraki were affected and have been told to leave the office of the number three citizen and report back to the DSS headquarters with effect from 10am on Monday.
Similarly, 10 operatives were withdrawn from Dogara, while five were withdrawn from Ike Ekweremadu, Deputy Senate President and Yussuff Lasun, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
However, no information was provided on the security aides attached to the spouses of all the four principal officers.
It is however uncertain whether the security details deployed by the police were affected.
