A vehicle of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Tukur Buratai, was involved in an accident on Sunday.

The Nigerian Army in a statement said the accident occurred at Jere town on the way to Kaduna at about 6.00 p.m.

"The staff car was in a convoy along with other vehicles when a lone civilian vehicle veered off its lane and rammed into the staff car," the Army said.

Fortunately, the COAS was not in the vehicle when the accident occurred, but his ADC was not so fortunate, as he sustained minor injuries.

The Nigerian Army said he had been evacuated to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
