If you are a cashew farmer in Nigeria, your cashew apples and nuts are about to become a commodity in high demand.

A new cashew factory has been inaugurated by the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.

The cashew processing factory was built by FoodPro Nigeria Limited.

The Vice President, who was conducted round the factory by the Chief Executive Officer of the company, Ayo Olajiga, affirmed the government's resolve to ease the process of doing business in Nigeria.

Osinbajo was accompanied by Gov. Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara; the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed and the Director General of BOI, Waheed Olagunju.

If you are looking for employment you should consider heading there.

So far, 400 people have been employed with 90% of them being women.

He said the factory was expanded to produce 5,000 tonnes of processed cashew nuts a year.

Olajiga explained that most of the company’s outputs were exported to the United States of America (USA) and local stores in Nigeria.

He said the choice of Kwara State for the factory was because of raw material coupled with the state government’s friendly business policies.
