The Lagos State University (LASU) has asked the public to disregard any publication that puts cut-off mark for admission into the institution at a Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) score below 190.

LASU official cut-off mark is 190, a spokesman for the institution, Mr Adekoya Martins, said on Thursday while responding to rumours that there were different cut-off marks for different courses and departments in the ongoing 2017/2018 admission exercise.

The false report was being peddled on social media.

Mr Martins told newsmen that the said publication was not from the information arm of the university.

Martins described the purported publication as “misleading” and warned the public to disregard it.

“The public should kindly disregard the misleading publication and always check the university’s dedicated social media platforms for genuine and valid information about the institution,’’ he said.

Activities are returning to LASU after the Academic and non-academic staff of government universities in Nigeria called off their industrial action.
