Dino Melaye Highlights 2 Times Police Tried To Kill Him
When Senator Ben Murray-Bruce asked Dino Melaye to resume with clutches some days ago, nobody saw it coming that the resumption will end in a defection and also raise more issues of human rights abuse for the police.
The music video superstar-Senator has opened the floodgate of defection and who knows who will follow.
He has not failed to be in the news each passing week since he made a famous move over a month ago - jumping from a police vehicle.
That jump did not end well, however, as he landed on a hospital bed and was in an intensive care unit of the National Hospital, Abuja for weeks.
On Wednesday, the Senator representing Kogi West, who had escaped recall, shocked Nigerians when he moved to the stand of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the upper chamber. It is a technical defection.
'Chemical Substance And Injection'
He was elected under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), but he now moved over to the PDP.

More shocking is another revelation that Senator Melaye made when he addressed members of the Senate.
He cited order 14 and started by appreciating God Almighty and then highlighted that there were two attempts on his life by the police.
"I thank God for his intervention on two occasions were the Nigerian Police made attempt to kill me through chemical substance and injection.
"I thank the irremovable President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki, and my distinguished colleagues.
"I thank the Speaker and all members of House of Representatives for the love and support throughout this trying period," Senator Melaye said.
After he addressed the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki expressed the support of the Senate for every member, insisting that an injury to one is an injury to all.
“On behalf of all of us, I welcome you.
"I think that as members of the National Assembly, whatever happens to one happens to all.
"We will continue to speak with one voice and be there for each other," Dr. Saraki stated.
Dino Melaye has been troubled on every side in the last one month and he still has a case to answer at a High Court in his State.
There have been allegations of arms banditry against him, with claims that he handed criminals bags of arms.
He has denied the allegation in a video made public some months ago.
Senator Melaye has also faced recall proceedings in his constituency, but he scaled through, after it turned out that 'ghosts' were responsible for the recall.
Prior to his resumption on Wednesday, he shared a picture on his Instagram page that made sense to women and youths in Nigeria.
It is not the first time that an elected official at the Senate is defecting from one party to another.
Several defections in the past have been visited with reactions from the party on whose platform the individual was elected.
But they all scaled all attempts to declare their seat vacant.
Neither the APC nor the PDP has reacted to Dino Melaye's defection news.
