Chelsea forward Diego Costa is not having any rethink in his bid to leave London to return to life in Spain.

Costa has released a statement to reiterate his desire to join Atletico Madrid.

The Spanish forward has refused to leave Brazil for Stamford Bridge in order to train with the reserves after boss Antonio Conte had informed the 28-year-old that he is not part of his plans.

Chelsea are not taking the issue lightly and have slammed a huge fine on Costa for literally being AWOL.

But a statement from Costa on Thursday indicates that the striker has his mind made up and would not be shaken by the fines and threat from Chelsea.

"My destination is already made. I must return to Atletico Madrid.”

"It turns out that there is the impasse that Chelsea does not want to release me. But I believe that this situation will be resolved now on my return to Spain."

In January, Costa was linked with a lucrative switch to the Chinese Super League, but the Spanish international was allegedly denied the opportunity to leave Chelsea due to their challenge for the league crown.
